Mentoring
What is Mentoring?
An ongoing relationship where a person (the mentor) by virtue of her/his experience, knowledge and skills helps guide the learning and development of another person (the mentee).
Close instruction and directing (as in parenting and some work supervision) is not considered mentoring. Nor is casual instructions and training. Mentoring requires sufficient space for the mentee to grow and develop, but sufficient ongoing closeness for wisdom and tacit knowledge to be shared.
