Community engagement projects

The Community Engagement Unit was established to enhance the institute's relationship with community organisations in the Brisbane North Region. The Institute has created a one-stop-shop where both community organisations and the DETA Brisbane North Regional office can access assistance with training information and a solution that enhances projects, delivering outcomes that prepare the participant for employment.

Community Training Partnerships Retail Industry
This project is working through the "Breaking the Unemployment Cycle" program to gain work outcomes for long term unemployed and address the skill shortage problems that exist within the retail industry.

Horticulture & Landscape Training at Westlake Parklands
This project will engage 10 local unemployed residents to construct walking tracks, redevelop an existing working track, carry our bushland restoration surrounding the walking track and create an important recreational facility for the surrounding community.
