As a student of the Brisbane North Institute of TAFE (BNIT) you have access to information resources and learning hub services - regardless of whether you are training on or off campus. If you are an external student visit our external student section to find out about services for off campus students. Learning Hubs are located at the following campuses and can be contacted directly:

As a student of the Brisbane North Institute, an extensive range of educational resources and services becomes available to you:
- Friendly and knowledgeable staff who will help you to find the information you need.
- Loans of resources such as books, videos, magazines, fiction, music CDs.
- Information skills sessions - training in the use of the learning hub, Internet, email, online databases and much more.
- Assistance with assignments - e.g. research, writing styles.
- Internet Access.
- Access to electronic resources such as Academic Research Library, Australian Standards Online, Business Source Premier, ANZRC, CINAHL, Hospitality and tourism Index, Infotrac, Proquest Computing, Safari.
- Use of Personal Computers to access software e.g. Microsoft Office products.
- Audio-visual equipment - video and DVD.
- Photocopiers and printers.
- Quiet study areas.

Talk to learning hub staff for:
- assistance with finding the right information for an assignment or presentation
- help using the electronic resources eg. Online Databases and CD ROMs
- training to help you use the Internet (from beginners to advanced).
Information skills sessions
BNIT learning hubs offer training sessions in:
- how to use the learning hub (compulsory)
- basic Internet use
- advanced Internet use
- email.

Computer access
As a current student of Brisbane North Institute you have access to the Internet, Microsoft Office software and other software which is relevant to your course.

What about other TAFE libraries?
You may want to join another Queensland TAFE Library eg. if you live or work near another Queensland TAFE Institute. The Brisbane North Institute learning hub provides membership to Queensland TAFE students on presentation of their current student ID card. Many other Queensland TAFE libraries offer a similar service.
