Extensions/Renewals
A maximum of four (4) renewals is permitted for any item. You can contact any of the Brisbane North Libraries to extend your loans.

Reservations
Reservations can be taken if an item which you require is out on loan. Check our catalogue to see if the item is on loan. If it is on loan you can reserve it via the online catalogue. If not on loan, simply contact us or make an online request - and the item will be put aside for you. Alternatively see library staff at the Loans Desk with the Title and Call Number of the item which you wish to reserve.

Intercampus Loans
If an item you require is available only at another campus of BNIT, you can fill in an Intercampus Loans form available at the Loans Desk or use the online Request an Item/Intercampus Loan form to request the item. At least 3 day's notice is recommended to ensure sufficient time to transfer of the item/s.

Please note that if items which have been requested by Intercampus Loan have not been collected within a week of their arrival at the borrowing campus, the item will be returned to the lending campus.

Returns

Where and when to return books
All resources are stamped with a Return Date on the Date Due slip. Please return resources by placing them through the return chute which is located outside each of the libraries. Equipment should be returned at the Loans Desk.

All resources must be returned at the end of the year for the library stocktake.

Late Return
Reminder notices are sent to clients if resources are not returned by the due date. If you need to renew items that you have on loan, please contact one of the library services on or before the due date. Staff who have items that are long overdue may not be able to borrow from the library service until the items are returned.

NOTE: You are responsible for all items which are booked out in your name.

Interlibrary Loans

If the BNIT Libraries do not hold a resource required for teaching purposes or skills update, an Interlibrary Loan can be arranged. To allow enough time for processing the request and the delivery of item/s, it is strongly advised that loans be organised two weeks in advance.

Interlibrary loans may be borrowed form non-TAFE institutions for personal study at your cost. Additional fees apply for fast tracking. Contact library staff for more information.

NOTE: Items borrowed by Interlibrary Loan must be returned to the library by the due date. If an extension is required, please allow at least two days before the item is due for a renewal request to be processed.
