Academic Appeals Process: Procedure within the Institute to arrive at or reach an academic decision regarding the dispute or question relating to the academic processes or procedures.

"Have Your Say" Form: Brisbane North Institute of TAFE's procedure used to resolve non-conformance and improve the Quality Management System.

Informal options for resolving grievances within the Institute

  • Informal approach to staff member, for instance a teacher, International Student Officer or student adviser.
  • Mediation.

If resolution is unsatisfactory, international students may seek formal options.

Formal options for resolving grievances within the Institute

International students have the right to appeal against a decision made by BNIT. Appeals must be submitted in writing addressed to the Institute Director and submitted within 20 working days of the date the decision was communicated to the student.
