TAFE to University pathways

Brisbane North Institute of TAFE (BNIT) has established links with many prestigious universities enabling graduating diploma and advanced diploma students credit towards their degree qualifications.

This provides a considerable saving to the student in both time and money as well as providing a defined pathway to further tertiary study and career outcomes.

Many students find the progression from school to university much more enjoyable by transitioning through TAFE. The hands-on, practical approach to training and supportive learning environment experienced at BNIT helps students develop their skills and confidence in preparation for university.

Improve your Tertiary Entrance Rank

By completing a diploma program at BNIT a student will enhance their ranking and may become eligible for entry into a degree program. Up to twelve months' credit may be given toward the degree program for the completed diploma study.

Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation is designed to provide a pathway to tertiary institutions for adult learners who have not completed senior secondary schooling. Subjects offered include language and learning skills, arts/humanities, mathematics, sciences, human movement and computing. This course is available at the Caboolture and Ithaca campuses.

Articulation and credit transfer

Articulation agreements allow you to be credited for your TAFE studies when applying for a university or high education qualification, which may reduce the time taken to complete a degree.

BNIT has numerous courses on offer that provide credit transfer through arrangements with universities across Queensland and another parts of Australia. As most TAFE programs are government subsidised, choosing this option represents a significant cost saving.
