Graduation ceremonies
Graduation: Wednesday, 12 December
We look forward to celebrating with you at the biggest event on the BNIT calendar - your graduation!
There will be two separate ceremonies - one for Certificate III graduands (daytime) and another for certificate IV and higher qualifications (evening).

Venue
Both ceremonies will take place in the Great Hall at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) (PDF 482KB), located in South Bank on the corner of Merivale and Glenelg Streets.
Getting there
Please allow plenty of time to get to the venue.
By train: a short walk from South Brisbane railway station
By bus: many buses stop in the vicinity of the BCEC. Train and bus timetables available at the translink website.
Parking: Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) Car Park 1 (entry via Merivale Street). Visit the BCEC website for more information about parking.
Accommodation: the closest accommodation is available at Rydges South Bank.

Certificate III graduands
Registration 9.30am - 10.15am. Graduands must be registered by 10.15am
Best entry to the BCEC is by the steps on the corner of Merivale and Glenelg Streets. As you enter, you will see the registration desk across the foyer directly ahead to the left. Please register to receive a card which lists your name and the award(s) you are receiving.
Important! Please keep this card with you as it identifies where you will be seated in the Great Hall and must be presented to the Education Business Manager when you go up on stage during the ceremony.
Graduands must be seated in the Great Hall by 10.30am for a full briefing of the morning's program.
Guests do not have to register, but please print your ticket and bring it with you to be admitted on the night. As one ticket will be used for all guests, please ensure all enter together.
Dress
Keep in mind that this is a special event! Please wear appropriate business attire:- gentlemen - shirt with collar and long trousers
- ladies - dress, trousers or skirt with a blouse
Please leave your valuables with a guest as no cloak room facilities are available at the venue.
Photography
There will be a professional photographic studio in the Great Hall, accessible by ground floor doors. It will be open until 10.10am and immediately following the ceremony. These photographers will take photos of each graduand during the ceremony - you will be given a number as you leave the stage which can be used to retrieve the right photo. All photographs will be available for purchase. -
Certificate IV, diploma and advanced diploma graduands
Registration 4.00pm - 5.15pm. Graduands must be registered by 5.15pm

Gowning 4pm - 5.15pm. Graduands must be gowned by 5.15pm.
You must bring your ticket with you as proof of payment. Once you have registered please make your way immediately to the gowning area in the Great Hall, accessible by the ground floor doors.
Certificate IV graduands will wear a black TAFE gown. Diploma and advanced diploma graduands will wear a black TAFE gown with a red collar.
