Pest Management
BNIT pest management programs offer the opportunity to obtain the skills and knowledge for a career in pest prevention within the pest management industry.
This course covers quotation and delivery of a pest management program, maintenance of equipment in a storage area and/or controlled pest management vehicle, responding to customer enquiries, assessing pest management options, modification of environments to manage pests, application of pesticides, testing and monitoring a pest program.
In Queensland, pest management is managed by a licensing system issued through different government departments. Study units in this program address licensing requirements for both the Queensland Department of Health to operate as a Pest Management Technician and the Building Services Authority to operate in the area of timber pest inspection and control in Queensland. These licences carry national standing.
