Objectives
The Aged Care Project's core objective is to provide the most industry appropriate training opportunities across Queensland and New South Wales and in doing so, provide workers of aged care and community care with much needed recognised qualifications.
Aged care industry specialists
The Aged Care Project Team has a thorough understanding of all residential aged care and community aged care environments. The aged care industry as a whole faces serious workforce development problems, such as the recruitment and retention of staff, skill levels and qualifications held by staff, staffing levels and the continued uptake of training and professional development. Through ongoing industry engagement, we keep abreast of emerging issues so that we can immediately respond accordingly with industry relevant training solutions. With these industry issues in mind, we are committed to improving the quality of aged care and the skills of those workers employed, by providing qualifications that directly address these needs.
Career path
Preparing our students to be work ready is what we do best. We have a long history of success in aged care and community training partnerships. Through our training programs, we strive to deliver the first step in a professional aged care career path for aged care workers, and endeavour to foster a culture of continuous personal improvement amongst our students. We have demonstrated continued success in achieving this. Under previous funding rounds, Certificate III and IV level students, have not only completed their qualifications in record time, but are now enrolling into our Diploma level programs. We are committed to supporting the professional aged care career path of aged care workers, and in doing so, our participating students enjoy access to a wide range of training programs in additional areas such as business, management, community services and university articulation pathways that are unique to BNIT and its scope of registration. BNIT's Aged Care Project offers an educational journey defined by its quality that supports and encourages lifelong learning and development.
