The Faculty of Service Industries gives you the opportunity to get all the hands-on experience you need while gaining a nationally recognised qualification in one of the following course areas:
Children's Services - Our program will equip you to use organisational policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their potential.
Community and Human Services - To develop your career in the field of Community Services, we offer programs to enable you to work with individuals with special needs, such as mental health issues, housing, youth work, aged care, domestic violence and child protection on an individual and group basis.
Cookery - Brisbane North Institute of TAFE offers a wide variety of programs in the cooking industry. Successful completion of one of the programs offered can provide graduates with the opportunity to enter the hospitality industry as an apprentice chef, a kitchen hand or a wide variety of cookery related positions in cafes, hotels, restaurants.
Hairdressing - Students completing this program are sought after by employers and can become apprenticed in the Hairdressing Industry. Students gain the skills to become qualified as a Salon Assistant, work in retail and the beauty industry or go on to further study in hairdressing for those who aspire to own or manage a salon.
Hospitality - Tourism and hospitality can take you on holiday with career path, skills and job satisfaction thrown in. Where would you like to be working? A Pub in Ireland? Running your own B&B, Cafe or restaurant, working in finance or promotions? Successful completion of the various training programs provides graduates with the opportunity for employment and further career pathways in hotels, motels, restaurants, clubs, airlines, shipping and other catering establishments in Australia and overseas.
Retail - Our program is a great start for anyone wishing to develop the skills and knowledge to begin a career in the retail industry, this course is offered at Bracken Ridge, Caboolture and North Lakes.
