Policies for international students

International student deferral, suspension or cancelling of enrolment

During a course through formal agreement, in certain limited circumstances, BNIT enables international students to defer or temporarily suspend their studies. International student satisfactory progress

The  International student satisfactory progress policy (PDF, 54 KB) details the process regarding satisfactory academic progress to ensure international students of BNIT, comply with mandatory student visa condition 8202 relating to academic performance under the Migration Act 1958.

International students transfer

The International Student Expected Duration of Study (PDF, 50 KB) and the international student transfer to another provider (PDF, 72 KB) procedure outlines how BNIT processes international student requests for transfers between registered providers in compliance with The Education for Overseas Students Act 2000 and the requirements under Standard 7 of the National Code of Practice 2007.

The International student expected duration of study (PDF, 50 KB) outlines how BNIT will monitor the workload of international students to ensure that they can complete the program within the expected course duration, as registered on CRICOS and as identified by the length of their student visa.
