Erin and Isabelle O’Driscoll enjoy O Week

Hundreds of students descended on Brisbane North Institute of TAFE (BNIT) this week to enjoy the fun and get a taste of campus life, as O Week provided an insight into what lies ahead when they start their studies.

As part of O Week students were encouraged to come along and check out the campus facilities, meet their teachers, make new friends and keep up-to-date with news and events by joining BNIT face, the institute's facebook page.

Two students enjoying O Week were mother and daughter, Erin and Isabelle O'Driscoll. Whilst Erin was checking out campus life for the first time, her mother Isabelle was able to provide some valuable information to help her daughter settle in, as she is heading into the second year of her Visual Arts course.

Erin has just finished Year 12 and is completing the Diploma of Business qualification which will allow her to continue her studies and complete a Bachelor of Business at university. She saw how much her mum enjoyed TAFE life and decided to follow in her footsteps by choosing to study at BNIT.

"My mum has been studying here for the past year and has really enjoyed the experience. I wanted to study a course which would lead on to university and decided that BNIT offered exactly what I needed.

"I have met lots of new people here today and have also seen some familiar faces as there are several students here from my year at school, one of them is even studying the same course.

"I'm looking forward to starting my studies at BNIT - I've really enjoyed O Week and think it is a great way to give students an idea of what lies ahead," Erin said.

Students enjoyed O Week across the BNIT campuses at Bracken Ridge, Caboolture, Grovely, Ithaca and Redcliffe.
